Mr. Schools serves as a Director, President and Chief Executive Officer for CapStar Bank and CapStar Financial Holdings, Inc. 

Mr. Schools began his career in banking at SouthTrust Corporation and National Commerce Financial Corporation where he held numerous positions. Following the sale of National Commerce Financial, he served as Chief Financial Officer of The South Financial Group before moving to Honolulu, Hawaii where he served as President of American Savings Bank. Upon returning to South Carolina, he assisted United Community Bank as Chief Strategy Officer during its recovery from the financial crises prior to becoming a Director, President and Chief Executive Officer of Highlands Bankshares.
He has served on numerous corporate and non-profit boards, including APCO Employees Credit Union, CRA Partners, First Market Bank, Highlands Bankshares, NASDAQ Issuer Affairs, and OTC Issuer Affairs.

Mr. Schools graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from James Madison University and received his Master of Business Administration from Emory University.
